Cibola High School is an American high school located at 1510 Ellison Drive on the westside of Albuquerque, New Mexico. It is overcrowded as of 2006, and is currently the largest public high school in the state of New Mexico with more than 3000 students. The current principal is Grace Brown.
Cibola is notable for its 2006 football team that in their regular schedule went 6 and 1 and is now proceeding to a state championship with the JV and freshmen teams ending their schedules undefeated and Albuquerque city champs. Cibola's boys track team is also worth mentioning. The Cibola boys varsity track team won the 2007 F.M. Wilson Relays, this is the first time Cibola has won the event since its inception more than 30 years ago. The team is aggressively ruling out competitors in the state of New Mexico, this is thanks to Coach Henry, George, and Provault who ironically coaches pole vaulting. The Cross Country Team produced the 2005 NM girls championship and, like the track team, is home to some of the most formidable boys running teams in the state; also notable is Cibola's newly formed "S-Troupe": a group of comedic performers that write, produce, and direct their own material. Created in 2005 S-Troupe has grown in members and popularity due to the quality of its material and the cult references scattered throughout each show. Cibola's rival school is Rio Rancho High School, located just a few miles North of Cibola.
