About The Reverend Ron

The Reverend Ron is an ordained minister who has had a passion for mythology and religious studies since childhood. He has a day job in the technology industry, and has founded and leads The Church of THOR for the benefit of like-minded people of all backgrounds and creeds.

About The Church of THOR
Membership is open to all sentient beings, mortal and immortal, Earth-bound or other, but we expect to attract people with some or all of the following common interests:

What do we stand for?
We believe in good-hearted, approachable spirituality, with strong tenets and a focus on a time-tested personification of faith: The Immortal God THOR.

We believe in good works on this plane of existence, openness to all belief systems, and that evil-doers exist and should be punished by super-natural force.

And we believe that myth, supernatural forces and insupportable belief systems are parallel to, but not in conflict with, scientific truth and fact.

Why do this at all?
As today’s society sharpens the boundaries between right and wrong, red and blue, Christians and everyone else, it is simultaneously trying to blur the distinction between religious myth and scientific fact. Contrariwise, we believe that the boundaries between people should be blurred and the distinctions between systems of thought should be sharpened.

Plus, if one is going to have a God-focused belief system at all, why not a really cool God?

As the late, great philosopher Douglas Adams said in “The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul”, if a God was immortal THEN, it stands to reason that the same God is immortal NOW.

We take this exactly as seriously as we should, and hope you will join us!
