Chuchunezumi is taking a long wikibreak and will be back on Wikipedia about the same time Nixon gets reelected (ie, barring some sort of miracle, never).

Chuchunezumi has grown completely disenchanted with Wikipedia's tolerance of vandals and lax enforcement of vandalism penalties. Chuchunezumi is tired of seeing the work of dedicated editors spoiled by those with small IQ's and too much time. Right now it is doubtful that Chuchunezumi will ever return to Wikipedia. Chuchunezumi disagrees with the idea that coddling idiots will somehow turn them into honest editors. One warning should be enough, not four or more (which the person can easily delete without penalty, another asinine policy decision) and then a 24 hour block. Pages should be afforded easy semi-protection status. One article I wrote has had nothing for three months but IP vandalism with zero constructive edits, but that isn't adequate for semi-protection? What the...?!?

Without adequate page protection measures and consistent and harsh enforcement of rules there is no reason to waste my time editing something that will likely be ruined; I find I spend twice as much time patrolling the pages I've already edited than writing anything new. This should be the administrators' job, not mine. Until Wikipedia loses this sickening touchy-feely-Rainbow-Coalition-Love-In approach to enforcement, I don't see any reason to continue watching my work and the work of others be destroyed. I appreciate the help of many other editors, but I'm tired of feeling as though IP vandals are equally important as those of us who actually contribute.
