Chuck Wein graduated from Harvard University in the early 1960s.

He met Edie Sedgwick in Cambridge in 1963 and moved with her to New York in 1964, acting as her promoter. He introduced Edie to Andy Warhol in January 1965, and began taking her regularly to The Factory.

He left Warhol to travel the world, manage bizarre nightclub acts and focus on the occult.

Wein is portrayed by Jimmy Fallon in the 2007 film Factory Girl.
