Chuck Smith (football player)

Chuck Smith is a radio host and former NFL defensive end.
While attending Clarke Central High School in Athens, Georgia, scouts took notice of Chuck's natural athletic ability, which earned him a full scholarship to the University of Tennessee. While at Tennessee, Smith played in both the Sugar and Fiesta Bowl and earned Most Valuable Player honors at the College Senior Bowl.
In 1991, Smith entered the NFL Draft where he was selected in the second round by the Atlanta Falcons. For eight seasons in Atlanta, Smith established himself as an All-Pro defensive end including leading the Falcons to Super Bowl XXXIII. Then, in 2000, Smith left Atlanta to join the Carolina Panthers where he ended his career in 2001.
Smith began his next career as a sportscaster. Smith extensive resume includes serving as a co-host/on-air sports personality for the Ryan Cameron Morning Show, co-hosting Fox Sports Net's SEC TV "SEC Football Show" with Dave Neal, hosting local sports radio shows with Media One Cable Network, and serving as co-host/sports director for The Frank & Wanda Morning Show.
Currently, Smith co-hosts the Sports Radio 790 The Zone (WQXI-AM) show, Monsters of the Midday with Matt Chernoff.
Smith resides in Duluth, Georgia with his wife, Mynique, and their three children.
