Hi! Mike H 00:50, Jul 6, 2004 (UTC)

Who are you?

I don't remember why I posted this to you. Probably just to be nice. Mike H 02:01, Jul 19, 2004 (UTC)

Would we trust politicians to dictate the laws of science?

No, but we can trust the people to collaborate and work toward establishing what general knowledge is. Wikipedia is a democratic meritocracy. Ideas that aren't fact normally get weeded out quickly. It's not just a matter of majority rule without any thinking, but a majority (usually a consensus) proving its position. -- Stevietheman 03:39, 11 Jul 2004 (UTC)
Thanks for your feedback Stevietheman. I am not convinced that consensus brings about truth or reason. A good example is Galileo Galilei. I am also not convinced that Wikipedia represents a working model of a democratic meritocracy.
