[edit] Archers new rival

A tag has been placed on Archers new rival, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Mr Stephen 00:02, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your message. Please sign your messages with four tildes, ie ~~~~. There is nothing "bad" about the article you created, but I have suggested that it be deleted because, as far as I can tell, it "does not assert the importance or significance of its subject". WP:MUSIC contains the guidelines you need to meet. The article isn't deleted yet, and if you want to contest the speedy deletion add {{hangon}} beneath the {{db-band}} notice, then explain your reasons in the article's talk page. Regards, Mr Stephen 00:22, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles you have created

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:

  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. Mr Stephen 00:26, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] What Wikipedia is, and is not

Please have a read of WP:NOT, which explains what Wikipedia is not for. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and is not for advertising or promotion. Regards, Mr Stephen 00:31, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

I have explained why I requested its deletion. The article you created did not assert the importance of the band (or how it met WP's guidelines at WP:MUSIC), and Wikipedia is not for advertising or promotion. As I suggested previously, please read WP:NOT, and WP:MUSIC. WP:FIRST also contains some good advice. Regards, Mr Stephen 00:53, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
I can only repeat; read those guidelines. Regards, Mr Stephen 01:09, 29 January 2007 (UTC) PS I haven't deleted anything. Try WP:WMD.

[edit] Archers new rival

This was a non-notable band according to the criteria set out in WP:Music. Perhaps Myspace would be a better location for this information rather than an encylopedia, until the criteria are satisfied. (aeropagitica) 21:12, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

This is your last warning.
