• Chryse is the Greek name of a legendary island of gold in the East Indies.

• Chryse is also the name of a town mentioned in The Iliad, from which Agamemnon took Chryseis.

• Chryse is also the name of the father of Chryseis, a woman Agamemnon took as a slave during the Trojan War.
