Chronicles of the Sword is a sword and sorcery fantasy point-and-click adventure game with arcade elements, created and published by Psygnosis, and initially released in 1996 for DOS and PlayStation systems. The game's setting and gameplay are loosely based on Arthurian legend.
[edit] Story
The game is set in King Arthur's mythical court of Camelot, located in Albion (Britain) circa 420 AD. The player takes on the role of Gawaine, an aspiring knight in Arthur's Order of the Round Table whose quest is to end the life of Morgana, the wicked sorceress, before she can wreak destruction on Camelot.
Lady Morgana, Arthur's evil sister, plots to reveal Lancelot and Guinevere's affair to the world, thus overthrowing Arthur. Gawaine discovers her plan and warns the King, and Morgana is banished. Not pleased, she attempts to kill Arthur, prompting the king sends Gawaine off to take care of Morgana once and for all. The knight then ventures into the forest to ferret out various objects to give himself magical protection before he can finally confront the witch in her castle in Lyonesse. There, he must also find a way to destroy the vampire Ragnar, Morgana's lover and personal guardian.
