Chrome Division is a Norwegian heavy metal band formed in 2004. It started as a side project between Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir, Luna of Ashes To Ashes, and Lex Icon of The Kovenant, however its roots can be traced back as far as 1999 during the pre-production of Dimmu Borgir's Spiritual Black Dimensions when Shagrath and Lex Icon (then Nagash) of Dimmu Borgir got together after rehearsals for a jam session, which they recorded, reminiscent of the style Chrome Division assumes albeit without vocals. However after Spiritual Black Dimensions release, the project was put on hold due to Shagrath's priorities with Dimmu Borgir and Lex Icon's with The Kovenant. When Shagrath and Lex Icon resurrected the project in 2004, they would bring in Eddie Guz as a vocalist and Ricky Black as an extra guitarist. After several months together, Lex Icon left the band on amicable terms. Tony White of Minas Tirith would be his replacement. Chrome Division plays a straight forward form of heavy metal with a pronounced biker image. Their debut album Doomsday Rock 'N Roll was released on July 21, 2006 via German record label Nuclear Blast Records.
