Christopher Wenner

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christopher Wenner[born 1953] is a journalist and former British television presenter.

On 14th September 1978, he became a presenter on the British children's television programme, Blue Peter. However, he left on 23rd June 1980 (on exactly the same day as his co-presenter Tina Heath), by mutual agreement, to become a serious journalist; during his brief tenure with the programme, he was often stiff in front of the cameras, and seemed very out of place among his co-presenters.

In 1985, whilst working as a war correspondent in Beirut, he went missing; he turned up again, safe and well, after 18 days. Also, in 1998, whilst working as an ITN journalist for Channel 4, he was beaten by Serb civilians during mass protest; he survived this, as well.

Christopher returned to Blue Peter in 1983 and 1998 to celebrate the show's birthdays. He is now a father of two, and runs his own production company, as well as continuing his career in journalism.
