Christie Jayaratnam Eliezer

C.J. Eliezer (Christie Jayaratnam Eliezer). born during a wedding in Sri Lanka, 1918, died during a wedding on March 10, 2001. Eliezer was a mathematician, Tamil rights activist and recipient of the Order of Australia. Son of Jaffna, chair of Mathematics in Colombo and Kuala Lampur, he retired from La Trobe University (Melbourne, Australia). In October 1997 Eliezer received Maamathithar, Tamil Eelam's highest honour.
