Christian Klar

Christian Klar (born May 20, 1952 in Freiburg) was a leading member of the so called second generation of the German terrorist group Red Army Faction. He was arrested in November 1982 and convicted for multiple murder, and has been in prison since his arrest. The sentence is six times life imprisonment plus 15 years.

He has filed a petition for pardon, to be decided by the Bundespräsident. If it is granted, he is due for release in 2009.
