Christian Bassedas (born February 16, 1973 in Buenos Aires) is a former Argentine football midfielder.
Bassedas, who played from 1993 to 2000 for Argentine first division Vélez Sársfield, is most notable for playing for Newcastle United from 2000-2003, though on loan to CD Tenerife briefly during the 2001/2002 season.
In 2003 he signed with Argentine Newell's Old Boys, but after two months of pre-season training he decided to retire form football.
He currently works for Fox Sports en Español as a commentator of England's Premier League matches.
