Christian Badea

Conductor Christian Badea, a native of Bucharest, Romania, has performed in such highly-esteemed opera houses throughout the world as The Metropolitan Opera and Covent Garden. His repertoire extends from symphonic works to numerous operas. An alumus of Juilliard, Badea's early training is as a classical violinist.
Badea began his career as the music director of the Columbus Symphony, and has since performed in the foremost concert halls and opera houses of Europe, North America, and Asia.
Badea received a Grammy Award in 1985 alongside Samuel Barber for his conducting of Antony and Cleopatra.
