Chris Romero is a semi-retired 2nd generation professional wrestler who is better known as Chris Youngblood.

[edit] The Beginning

Chris Romero is the son of Ricky Romero. He began his pro-wrestling training at the age of 13 and made his professional debut as Chris Youngblood in 1985. He started teaming with brother Mark in 1986 upon their older brother Jay's death.

[edit] Rise to Fame

Chris and Mark had success in the World Class Championship Wrestling, World Wrestling Council and also as The Tribal Nation in the Global Wrestling Federation and the United States Wrestling Association. In the USWA, Chris turned heel and wrestled for manager Skandor Akbar's "Devastation Inc." as Pronto, a mockery of his American Indian heritage.

Chris and Mark's had a very successful run in being one of the most popular tag teams in WWC and having numerous Tag Title reigns under their belts. But on July 17, 1988 The Romero's were in the locker room when a wrestler named Jose Huertas stabbed and killed The Legendary Bruiser Brody. Huertas went to trial but did not do any jail time for the crime. The WWC did nothing to help convict Huertas. The Romero's left The WWC right after the incident.

[edit] World Championship Wrestling

Chris and Mark had a brief stay in World Championship Wrestling as "The Renegade Warriors". Frequently used on WCW TV, he and his brother had numerous feuds with the likes of The Steiner Brothers and The Road Warriors.

As a singles wrestler, Chris gained victories over the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin and Rob Van Dam.

In the late 1990's Chris began using the name "The Visionary" Chris Romero and formed a Tag Team in Japan's FMW with "Super" Leatherface. The team got notable wins over Tag Teams like Jedo and Gedo, and Masato Tanaka and Iko Kuroda.

Chris went into semi-retirement in 1999.

Chris Romero currently trains students at The Romero Academy of Wrestling in Amarillo, Texas. He also wrestles at a local Amarillo based Independent Federation called West Texas Wrestling Legends where he is also WTWL General Manager.

Chris has also done work in East Texas for NWA Southwest and was always in Top Contention for The NWA Texas Heavyweight Championship. While in During this time he also teamed up with his nephew "Radical" Ricky Romero III against The Lone Star Connection.

In 2006, World Wrestling Entertainment showed interest in hiring Chris as a Producer for training and scouting talent.

On September 9, 2006 a pre-taped promo aired before a live audience in Amarillo, Texas that saw TNA's own Lance Hoyt challenge Romero to a West Texas Death Match with Romero's WTWL Brass Knuckles Title being on the line. The stipulation being that if Hoyt is victorious WTWL's Brass Knuckles Title be renamed The WTWL Hardcore Title.

November 25, 2006 at WTWL's Remember November event, Chris Romero was a special guest referee in the night's Main Event between his nephew "Radical" Ricky Romero III and Widow Maker. The match ended in no contest when Widow Maker and WTWL Champion Thunder and Angel of Death attacked The Romero's. Then the locker room emptied out and made the save.

At WTWL's Season's Beatings II event on December 9, 2006, Chris Romero teaming with his nephew "Radical" Ricky Romero III and "Hobo" Hank defeated the team of Angel of Death, Widow Maker and The WTWL Champion Thunder in a Six Man Tag Team match.

On January 13, 2007 at WTWL's Wrestlution event, Chris Romero was in his brother Mark's corner in the nights Main Event where Mark Romero made a rare in-ring appearance using the famous Youngblood name. Mark defeated WTWL Champion Thunder to gain the title. Afterwards Chris and WTWL's Superstars "Hobo" Hank, Mike DiBiase, Dice Murdock and nephew "Radical" Ricky Romero III celebrated with the new champion.
