Chris Morgan (powerlifter)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chris Morgan is a British powerlifter. He won the silver medal in the World Drug-Free Powerlifting Finals in Atlanta in November 2004, and the gold medal in December 2005 at the finals in Turin.

Morgan is openly gay and competed in several 'gay games', an event for gay sportspeople to participate in. He is active in the fight against homophobia. His website states: "I’ve found many case examples of gay slurs being used by sports people, to unsettle an opponent. This whole homophobic attitude gives me an advantage over my straight counterparts. If they see being gay as the lowest common denominator, and the weakest link, then there is not a single slur that one of my opponents can use to undermine me."[1]
