Christopher Cole Mooney (born September 20, 1977), better known as Chris Mooney is an American journalist who focuses on science in politics. He is Washington correspondent for Seed, a senior correspondent for The American Prospect and occasional contributor to many other scientific and newsmagazines. He additionally maintains a weblog, The Intersection, and gives public lectures. He is author of The Republican War on Science. A second book, Storm World, focusing on global warming will be out in 2007.[1]

Recurring topics in Mooney's writing include climate change, the evolution-creation controversy, bioethics, alternative medicine, pollution, separation of church and state, and the government funding of education, research, and environmental protection.

Mooney was born in Mesa, Arizona, and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He holds a 1999 bachelor's degree in English from Yale University.
