Chris McPhee (born March 20, 1983 in Eastbourne) is an English professional footballer currently playing for Torquay United.
McPhee began his career as a trainee with Brighton & Hove Albion, turning professional in August 1999. His first team debut came on December 18, 1999 when he came on as a late substitute for Warren Aspinall in the 2-0 league defeat away to Swansea City. He struggled to establish himself in the Brighton first-team, particularly with the presence of Bobby Zamora in the team.
In August 2005 he joined Aldershot Town on loan for two months [1] and in March 2006 joined Swindon Town on loan until the end of the season[2].
He was released by Brighton at the end of the 2005-06 season and, despite stating his hope for a move to Swindon Town[3], joined Torquay United in July 2006[4]. He made his Torquay debut the following month, as late substitute for Mickey Evans in the 1-0 home win against Rochdale. He has mainly been used as a substitute by Ian Atkins, Lubos Kubik and the new managerial team of Colin Lee and Keith Curle.
