Chris Lilley is an Australian comedian from Sydney. Lilley began his career performing stand-up in Sydney, and went on to star in Big Bite (2003) on Australia's Seven Network. He gained acclaim for his portrayal of the extreme sports enthusiast Extreme Darren and the high-school drama teacher Mr G, characters which he continued in Hamish & Andy (2004). He also made his film debut playing two tiny roles in Abe Forsythe's Ned (2003).

After Hamish & Andy finished, Lilley created We Can Be Heroes (2005), a six-part series on the ABC. This show gained considerable praise from critics, and won the Logie Award for Most Outstanding Comedy Program in 2006. It is now being aired overseas under a new title, The Nominees. Lilley also won the 2006 Logie Award for Best New Talent, and a Rose d'Or award in Switzerland for Best Male Comedy Performance (won the previous year by Little Britain).

With We Can Be Heroes as the first Australian comedy to gain such attention since Kath & Kim, TV critics are predicting a big future ahead for the young comedian.

Lilley has a knack for representing a wide range of fictional characters. We Can Be Heroes has seen him portray a self-obsessed police officer, a Chinese Uni Physics student hailing from Melbourne who has a passion for drama, a 40-something year old with a dream to roll from Perth to Uluru and an arrogant Sydney teenage girl, amongst other characters.

He is currently working on a new series entitled Summer Heights High, a mockumentary series set in a suburban high school. In a similar format to We Can Be Heroes, he will play multiple characters, including Mr. G. The show will air in 2007.
