Christopher James Hovan (born May 12, 1978 - Rocky River, Ohio) is an American football player who currently plays defensive tackle for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL.

He started off his rookie and sophomore years with the Minnesota Vikings with very promising statistics. He was a star of the Viking's defensive line who wound up in the Minnesota doghouse in 2004. Had started 70 games in his NFL career and had 17 sacks before leaving Minneapolis. He signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He had an outstanding 2005 season and started every game at nose tackle. Switched to the 3 technique position having been more of a pass rusher in Minnesota and was one of the main reasons the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished No.1 in defense in spite of not recording a sack. Chris attended Saint Ignatius High School in downtown Cleveland.
