Chris Holroyd

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chris Holroyd is a professional football player who currently plays as a striker for Chester City.

In 2006 he signed his first professional contract after impressing in Chester City's Youth team. Chris hasn't started any games yet but has made an impact to the side when being substituted on.

Starting out at Crewe Alexandra academy, Chris was a mainstay in the highly rated youth setup. He however moved on from Crewe after he was dissapointingly not offered pro terms. On moving to chester city he really showed the Crewe coaches what they were missing with a string of fantastic performances for the youth team and reserves. He even managed a goal against his former club in the cheshire cup. Now a regular on the first team bech, he has looked impressive coming on and often changing the game. An exciting prospevct indeed. With a host of clubs looking for a loan deal, Mark Wright showed how much he values the nantwich based youngster by rejecting them and putting him straight into the starting line-up. Certainly one to watch.
