Detective Inspector Chris Deakin was a character in the long running ITV Drama The Bill. Deakin arrived at Sun Hill in 1994 having been thrown out of the Flying Squad for having an affair with a superior officer's wife. Deakin was played by Shaun Scott.
Deakin sought to reserect his career and managed to rise to the rank of Detective Inspector - making him the second highest-ranking Criminal Investigation Department officer in Sun Hill. Unfortunately Deakin's career came under threat in 2000 when CIB suspended the entire CID after uncovering the machinations of Don Beech. The Don Beech Scandal did not end his career but he was transferred for lack of supervision. He was evidently annoyed that DCI Jack Meadows had survived (his parting words to Meadows were "up yours Jack").
