Christopher Ashone Claiborne (born July 26, 1978 in San Diego) was a first-team All American graduate of the University of Southern California.

Chris Claiborne is a linebacker/defensive end in the National Football League. Claiborne currently is a free agent. Previously, he played for the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams, and the New York Giants.

Claiborne is the only Trojan to have won the Dick Butkus Award as the nation's best college linebacker.

Claiborne attended John W. North High School in Riverside, California, and was a letterman in both football and basketball. In football, he won All-State honors at both running back and linebacker as a senior under head coach Mark Paredes. Chris Claiborne graduated from J.W. North High School in 1996.
