Chris Ballance

Chris Ballance (born July 7, 1952) is a Green Member of the Scottish Parliament for South of Scotland. He currently sits on the Parliament's Enterprise and Culture Committee and is the Green's Parliamentary business manager and speaker on nuclear issues, culture and peace.

Born in Worcester, England, he owned and managed a second-hand bookshop in Wigtown, won an Edinburgh Fringe First in 1990, and wrote sketches for Radio Scotland before being elected to the Scottish Parliament in 2003. Ballance has written a play, It's My Party, about a fictional MSP, Iona McKinnon. It will be staged in Glasgow in March 2007.[1]
