Ngoun Saom, called Venerable Botumthera Som, is a compiler of Tum Teav. He was born in 1852 in Kamprow commune, Sithor Kandal province (a district of Preveng province) Cambodia. He was died in 1932.Tum Teav is his novel based on the classic poem written in the French colonial period,is the tragic love story of a talented novice monk named Tum and a beautiful adolescent girl named Teav. Well known throughout Cambodia since at least the middle of the 19th century, the story has been told in oral, historical, literary, theatre, and film.[1] CHOM Sonnang 08:37, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
