[edit] Why?

Why does he seem to be one of the less characters? Is it because he is overweight? Or is it just because and there is no reason to it?--kitsumiti 15:55, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

I think there is just no reason to it. FellowWikipedian 21:56, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
I would say Choji is one of the stronger characters. You just don't see it 'cause he always hide around his bag of chips. = ) --Francis820 15:59, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
I wouldn't say that if I were you. In the tenth and final of the Chunin Exam Prelims he lost out to Sound Villager and Orochimaru flunky Dosu Kinuta. It was all so anticlimactic, Choji needs to get killed off. He doesn't deserve to carry a bag of chips with him every time if he wants to be a ninja. He's unworthy of that title, so he should've been killed off. --Seishirou Sakurazuka 01:20, 10 September 2006 (UTC)
It's a little unfair to judge so harshly a character for whom a major theme is transformation by his poor performance in the arc in which he was introduced. If he weren't ineffective in the Chunin Exam arc, it would not be impressive that he grows into one of the stronger characters. Don't forget that during the Sasuke Retrieval arc only Choji and Neji can defeat members of the Sound Four on their own, and although Jirobo was the weakest of the four, it is still no mean feat.
He also later passed the Chunin exams so clearly he has improved.

[edit] The section on him and Shikamaru

It seems to me that this section doesn't read very well and needs to be tagged for cleanup.

[edit] Requested move

Akimichi Chōji → Chōji Akimichi – As pointed out in Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Anime_and_manga#Naruto_character_article_titles, the current names for articles about Naruto characters are inconsistent with the names used for other anime characters (Naruto characters use Japanese order for names, while most other anime characters have their name in Western order), as well not following the naming guidelines in WP:MOS-JA.

[edit] Choji vs. Chōji

The article name and wikilinks/headings should probably read Choji for convenience of linking, but what's the WP policy on instances of his name within the article? --Pentasyllabic 19:25, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

It should probably be consistent with the title. – Someguy0830 (Talk | contribs) 19:41, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
