Alternatively known as Chowick. A derogatory/racist New Zealand colloquial term describing the suburb of Howick and its surrounds in eastern Auckland. Perceived as a ghetto created from the large immigration of east Asians in the late 90’s, early 21st century. In reality it is neither a ghetto nor over run with Asians, but rather a predominantly white collar upper class dormitory suburb.
