CHNK-FM

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

CHNK-FM is a radio station in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, broadcasting at 100.7 FM. Owned by Newcap Broadcasting, the station airs a country format branded as Hank FM.

The station was originally launched in 2002 as CHNR-FM, a nostalgia station owned by CKVN Radiolink System Inc. It was acquired by Newcap in 2005, and adopted an adult album alternative format on December 26 of that year. At the time, the station, which also changed its call sign to CKFE-FM, announced that it was the first Canadian radio station to present the Triple-A format, even though it had already been broadcast by several other stations in the country (including Winnipeg's own CKIC-FM.)

On December 28, 2006 it changed formats to a country station.
