[edit] Bonding in chloric acid

structure shown for chloric acid is wrong--the chlorine should have only single bonds to the oxygens, as the correct Lewis dot structure for chlorate indicates. I don't have the image-editing capabilities to edit it--does someone else?

I'm honestly not finding any references that disagree with the current representation. Examples: [1] [2] [3] Can you provide a reference before Wikipedia goess and deviates from the standard? Thanks.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the structure: see hypervalent compound for more details on the controversy surrounding this type of compound. However, the acid dissociation constant needs checking; the comment with it is plain wrong, but I shaln't change it until I have verified the rest as well. We should note that chloric acid exists only in solution. Physchim62 12:32, 24 May 2005 (UTC)
