Chkhalta

Chkhalta is a principal village of Upper Abkhazia (formerly known as the Kodori Valley), part of the Georgian autonomous republic of Abkhazia. As it is the only part of Abkhazia controlled by the Georgian government the headquarters of De-jure Government of Abkhazia are located in Chkhalta. The village, and the area in general, are currently undergoing a major rehabilitation program.
