Since the December of 2000 it has been .chilmark.’s sole desire to play music for life. On a cold winter day a week before Christmas of 2000 .chilmark. was formed. Cousins Chris and Joshua Lewis felt playing guitar together was fun but didn’t complete the picture. Benjamin and Derek joined the two and the quartet was complete.

After years in high school writing and recording with the help of Fred Muehler, a Berklee College of Music film scoring engineer, the group went through many changes and got a feel for their own sound.

Getting a college degree was considered an important asset to a few in the group so respectfully .chilmark. decided to put a hold on music in the summer of 2002. Despite the time apart, the group grew closer in unexpected ways, gaining another great friendship and brotherhood. The pianist, Michael Hartigan, out of Potsdam, New York was added in the winter of 2004.

In the summer of 2005 .chilmark. spent countless numbers of hours in the studio, self-producing and recording their debut album, Sing My Alarm.
