I am not new. Do not welcome me. This is a sockpuppet account of Chili14. It exists for special purposes such as vandalism reverting and getting articles to FA status. If I am made an admin, I will do as much as I can with both accounts. Thank you.--Chilifix 04:36, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia!

Hello, Chilifix, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank for your contributions. We hope you like it here and decide to stay.

Oh, you say that you're not a new user? Well, never mind then. Thank you all the same, and if you respond to this message, that will mean that you will be one edit closer to reaching the minimum requirements of joining Esperanza. BTW, I think that the requirements are for 150 edits, not 500 as you stated on the Esperanza talk page.

This message will be copied to the Esperanza talk page for its humourous content. --Kyoko 06:02, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Belated Halo Birthday Thanks

Hi Chili. You said on the ESP talk page that you'd be using this account for awhile, so that's why I'm posting here.

Anyway, thanks for the cake (I'm sure that Susan is wondering where her nice, big cake went ;), and your birthday wishes. Thε Halo Θ 12:30, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Eagle project

Heh, not quite the question I was expecting. :) I ended up getting in contact with a preschool. At first, they wanted me to renovate this wooden playset that was starting to fall apart, but eventually they ended up asking me to build a fairly elaborate work table, instead. I added in a bunch of toolboxes. Got a discount from a local lumber yard, so the components came to about $300, which the school covered. Spent a few days in a family friend's toolshop cutting wood, two days to assemble the table, one day to sand and finish the table, and another day to build the boxes. Then an hour or two to deliver everything. Once things got moving, it went pretty quickly; the harder parts for me were finding a project and finishing the binder, afterward. Advice there would be: take lots of pictures, because everybody loves those, and take some quick notes after every day of work (planning, who was there, adult supervision, safety precautions, and what you did, and times), and then expand on those when composing your binder. Finding a project can be tricky, but there's always churches, schools, and other sorts of volunteer groups that can use your help. Just call around, ask friends, and eventually something will just sort of stumble into your lap. Good luck. :) Luna Santin 05:50, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Alternate Accounts"

I was reading Category:Alternate Wikipedia Accounts when I noticed that your name was on that list 2 times. My alternate account had been blocked recently, and my contibutions included nothing but edits on my main account's user page! I had the fact that it was an alternate account prominently displayed on both of my accounts' user pages. I was wondering if you had any advice on how to maintain two accounts (the second one just for editing my main user page) without getting blocked! --lovelaughterlife♥ (user|talk) 00:19, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the response. So I didn't do anything out of the whack.. humm. I wonder why he blocked me then? --lovelaughterlife♥ (user|talk) 00:26, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
It's Secondaryschoolgirl. The talk page with which I appealed to administrators with is at user talk:Secondaryschoolgirl. It gives legitimate reasons as to why I should not be blocked in the first place. --lovelaughterlife♥ (user|talk) 00:31, 4 November 2006 (UTC)
Thanks very much for all the help! I guess I'll just wait and see what the results are, and in the meantime, just forget about it. Thanks again! --lovelaughterlife♥ (user|talk) 01:56, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Could you do me a favor?

Hello Chilifix, I'll try to peer review the article to my very best ability. I don't know too much about editing music-related articles, and I doubt that the article is controversial that it needs the eye of an atheist to look over, but I can see where you're coming from. I also wanted to take the time to say thanks for asking me to look over it.

I wouldn't worry about the POV, as far as my I can see, it seems fine. There are other things the article could work on, however:

  • CITATIONS. This is a huge factor. If an article doesn't have any inline citations, then peer reviewers will automatically reject it. Without inline citations referencing to reliable sources, it won't reach FA status.
  • Preferably a more longer introduction that gives a brief overview of the article spanning several paragraphs. I would reccomend using the Rush (band) article as a model — it has a solid introduction down.
  • Merge History and and Solo efforts under one section: History, with dated subsections if necessary. This is where you will need a latherful of citations along with more information if possible. The sentences could use a more smoother transition — they seem to break off roughly instead of connecting all together. I really like how the Rush article had its History section organized; however, that type of style (with sample music followed by apporiate images spaced out evenly throughout) is entirely optional and it isn't a big issue if you choose not to follow that particular aesthetic style.
    • If the section is approriately expanded, then I would suggest (though it isn't that important) images that are used solely for informational purposes. Just remember that it's crucial that the images are licensed and sourced in its page, better if they are also sourced in the article as well.
  • Merge Videography, Gospel Music Awards, Grammy Awards, Literature, and Discography under one section: Discography with subsections. See the Discography section of the Rush article; the table they used is probably more reccomended for use than the three-column one.

Those are all my critiques. I think you have a good start, just make sure to work on the above things, and have it formally peer reviewed. I wish you all the luck in your FA efforts! :)Mirlen 04:50, 4 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] November Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
The last AC meeting (full log)
  • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.

[edit] Concordia Newsletter

NEWSLETTER

Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.

[edit] Help out now!

  • Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
  • Give people the Civility Barnstar.
  • Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.
  • Add banners or logos to your userpage to show your support.
  • Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.

We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.

[edit] Decision Making

The council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.

If you wish to opt of of further talk-page communications, just let us know here.
