Talk:Child World
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'm looking for any images of the early Child World store signs (with the globe with kids dancing around it, I think). This was the main logo for the store for many years and should be part of its history here. If anyone has an image please post it here or send me a message; Blipblip
The Best Buy in my area (Southgate, MI) used to be a Childrens Palace, I remember it from when I was a kid. Also I think I still have that Video Toy Chest, it was such a cheesy video.
I just discussed Child World with a co-worker who worked at one in Massachusetts years ago, and we looked up the entry here together. She swears that Child World was NOT founded in 1974, as the article claims - she worked there as early as 1971, and met her husband-to-be there at around that time.
My own memories tend to cooberate what she says, because we used to drive past (and visit) Child World frequently when I visited my grandparents as a child. I'm sure that was before 1974.
Incidentally, my co-worker also says that there was a different Child World mascot before Peter Panda - she thinks it was a genie. That's an early-childhood memory for me, but I'm pretty sure that I remember that genie, too. PMaranci 13:36, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
