Wiki ian: The latest revision of Tasmanian Towns street atlas clearly shows that the Brooker Highway is the boundary between Berridale and Chigwell. This boundary was changed in the late nineties. The area is considered lower socio-economic in parts, but with the Tasmanian housing boom, there are many mainland investers and upwardly mobile commuters buying houses in the area - I personally know someone from a lower-middle class background who paid $200,000 for his house near Allunga Road. A minister of parliament also lived in Chigwell in the 1980's. Perhaps the correct wording would be "lower socio-economic in parts".
Hi. I saw a request on Wikipedia:Wikiquette_alerts for an outside opinion on this article. My first observation is that there is no discussion here; if there are disagreements, this is the place to start in resolving them. Second, I notice a number of recent edits from anonymous accounts. That makes it hard to have a conversation, so I'd ask anonymous editors to [register] and log in when editing. As to the content, I think it could be improved, but I think the main flaw is a lack of citations. New editors should read the five pillars and include links to verification for all material in the article. Unverified information should be removed. I hope that helps!--William Pietri 00:52, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Major Edit
i have just completed a major edit of this page. i have removed large portions of untrue and unverifiable information. As i live in the Northen suburbs of Hobart i happen to know for a fact Chigwell isn't what it used to be, but i wouldn't go as far as to say its one of the more valuable areas in Glenorchy. i have added more relevent information, like the FACT there is a post office and primary school in the suburb. And to my knowledge Berriedale has always been the same place just people who live slightly accross the boundry of Chigwell believe and say they live in Berriedale which over time creates an acceptance that the suburb boundry has shifted. Wikipedia is about verifiable information, and anyone who has a problem with what i've done should read: Wikipedia:Citing sources
