Chintada is a village located in Bobbili mandal of Vizianagaram district (Earlier in Srikakulam district), Andhra Pradesh State in India.
The people who migrated from this village during the dokkala karuvu (a famine in 18th century) have settled in various places of Andhra Pradesh. Most of the people from there were part of the Viswabrahmin sect and their family name became Chintada. Their gothram is Sunanda Brahma Rushi. Great people like Chintada Swaprakasacharya guruji, Viswanatha Sastry guruji were born with this family name. Their contributions for research on Veerabramhendra Swamy life and kalagnanam are remarkable.
