Chingkankousaurus (named for the Ch'ing-kang-kou village) is the name given to a fossilized bone fragment (specimen number IVPP V636) that probably belonged to a theropod dinosaur from the late Cretaceous Period Wangshi Series of Shandong, China. It was identified by Yang Zhongjian (C.C. Young) in 1958 from a single "scapula", which he said "basically resembles that of Allosaurus but is smaller." Molnar et al. (1990) thought the scapula may have belonged to a tyrannosaurid. However, the piece of bone Young thought to be a scapula was in actuality a piece of rib. Chure (2001) assigned it to the Coelurosauria. Most paleontogogists today do not consider it identifiable beyond the fact that it belonged to some type of theropod.
