China Foreign Affairs University

China Foreign Affairs University (Simplified Chinese: 外交学院; Traditional Chinese: 外交學院; Pinyin: Wàijiāo xuéyuàn) is a university in Beijing, China. It is a university for diplomats.

The Foreign Affairs University was founded in 1955. It is affiliated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Vice Premier and foreign minister of China Chen Yi was the president of the university from 1961 to 1969. A statue of Chen Yi was later placed in front of the main building. The current president is Wu Jianmin 吴建民. Before 2005, the University was called Foreign Affairs College.

Courses offered include foreign languages (English, French and Japanese), foreign affairs and diplomacy, international law and economics. It awards BA, MA and PhD degrees.

The Foreign Affairs University also holds short-term courses for Chinese civil servants and for foreign diplomats. In 2005, it trained diplomats of the new governments created after the liberation of Afghanistan and Iraq for one month each.
