- Chilling is a slang term still in use, often in United States and Canada, which means to relax or "take it easy".
- Chilling can also refer to the effects governments and laws have on behavior, particularly on Free speech. See "Chilling effect."
- The expression Chills down my spine is a metaphor for Goose bumps, and is used to describe feelings of extreme fear or tension.
