Children's Miracle Network

The Children's Miracle Network (CMN) is an international non-profit organization that raises funds for Children's hospitals, medical research and community awareness of children's health issues. The organization, founded in 1983 by Marie Osmond and John Schneider, is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. To date, the Children's Miracle Network claims to have raised over US$2.2 Billion which is distributed directly to a network of 170 hospitals.

Children's Miracle Network raises more than $250 million each year. The funds are raised by corporate partners throughout the United States and Canada. There are 170 children's hospitals affiliated with Children's Miracle Network in the United States and Canada. The funds raised by Children's Miracle Network flow through directly to participating hospitals. Children's Miracle Network's primary fund raising efforts are corporate fund raising campaigns with more than 75 corporate partners.
In addition, CMN and its member hospitals hold an annual telethon every first weekend in June, known nationally as CMN Champions, hosted by Osmond and Schneider, with local cut-ins. The telethon is presented on various television stations in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico, with the usage of the CMN Champions segments varying from station to station.

Various agencies evaluate charities, based on a number of factors, including the percent of their revenue that is actually spent on their charitable programs. Children's Miracle Network receives a 4-star (out of 4) rating, with 89.1% of their revenue going to program expenses. According to the BBB Wise Giving Alliance, CMN "meets the BBB Standards for Charity Accountability."
