"Childhood's End" is a song from Pink Floyd's 1972 album Obscured by Clouds. It would be the last Pink Floyd song to feature lyrics by David Gilmour, or to be composed entirely solo by him, until the album A Momentary Lapse of Reason. The lyrics may have been influenced by the Arthur C. Clarke novel of the same name. The lyrics themselves distinctly recount the final days of Jan Rodricks, the last man on Earth, and the price paid by mankind in the final pages of the book.
It is very similar to "Time" from Dark Side of the Moon, both in structure and in theme.
David Gilmour is the only vocalist on the song.
