Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army

The Chief of the Army Staff (CAS) of the Bangladesh Army is the professional head of the Bangladesh Army. By virtue of the eminence of the Bangladesh Army amongst the military forces of Bangladesh, he is also regarded as the senior-most defence official in the country. The current CAS is Lieutenant General Moeen U Ahmed, psc.

The Army Chief functions from the Army Headquarters, which is located in the Dhaka Cantonment. The Army Chief is normally a Lieutenant General. The official residence of the Army Chief is known as 'Senabhaban' or Army House and has served as the official residence of the CAS since indpendence, prior to that serving as the Flag Staff House (residence of the senior most officer in the garrison in that case the General Officer Commanding of 14 Infantry Division) of Dhaka Cantonment.
