Chichigalpa

Chichigalpa is a municipality in the Chinandega department of Nicaragua.
Located 116.85 meters above sea level, its mean temperature is between 21°C and 30°C, with a maximum of 42°C. Chichigalpa is 124 km from Managua. Chichigalpa is located at the foot of the San Cristóbal volcano, the highest volcano in the Maribios range of Nicaragua at 1745 meters above sea level.
Chichigalpa is known for being the location of Nicaragua's best known rum, Flor de Caña, and the site of Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua, SA. Chichigalpa is also home of the sugar factory "Ingenio San Antonio" which not only produces sugar but also provides electrical energy to the public during the crop.
