Chibuku (nightclub)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chibuku is a nightclub in Liverpool, England.

For sweat, good music and good times this is the place to be.

Founded by a group of Liverpool students, the club night started in a small venue called The Lemon Lounge on Berry Street, Liverpool in March 2000.

Chibuku is named after a vile yet potent African beer called Chibuku Shake Shake. A sour tasting yet staple for the working class of Malawi.

Chibuku was nominated as the Best Small Club of the year in the Muzik Magazine Awards 2002.

It is often noted that Loz (a Chibuku resident DJ) has the best arse wiggle whilst performing. Will Jameson (the future King of Malawi and former founding member of Chibuku) regularly confirms this statement by firmly groping Loz's buttocks when he receives his DJ fee. This is always a crowd pleaser.

Chibuku is currently based at The Barfly, Liverpool and also hosts sell-out club nights at Nation, Liverpool as well as a residency at Fabric in London.
