[edit] License tagging for Image:Lk-kk.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Lk-kk.gif. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Kotte.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Kotte.gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Inappropriate username

Your username is inappropriate per Wikipedia username guidelines because it implies it's a bot account. Please change your username, you might get blocked otherwise. --Fritz Saalfeld (Talk) 09:18, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Parliout.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Parliout.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nicke L 09:40, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edit summary

I have noted that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). [edit] Your Username (Cheqbo)

Hello Cheqbo, unfortunately the username you have picked is inappropriate. Please consider changing it. You can do this by following the instructions at the Changing username page or by just creating a new account. Note that changing your username will allow you to keep your current edits credited to you. If you do not change your username, a Wikipedia administrator may block this account. If you feel this message is a mistake and your username does not violate the rule, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. --Oden 17:46, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Hi, here is the relevant passage from Wikipedia:Username, an official policy. I'm afraid it appears you will have to change your name.

"Names that imply bot accounts, potentially but not necessarily including "Bot", "Robot", "Script", "Initialize", "Automated", "Daemon", etc., unless the name is intended as a designated bot. Names that imply bot accounts may be blocked, and the user may be requested to contact an administrator to confirm that the account is indeed a bot account."

Please follow the steps outlined by Oden. Thanks, Deizio talk 12:22, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

Seems your username is actually Cheqbo but your pages were listed under Cheqbot? I've moved the user and talk pages, carry on as Cheqbo and all will be fine. Deizio talk 13:28, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Licensing prob.

Hi Cheqbo, I saw that your HSBC Rajagiriya pic was wrongly tagged with the fairuse tag. I know that picture is your own work (I guess), so you can replace {{AutoReplaceable fair use buildings|month=January|day=18|year=2007}} section with {{GFDL-self}} tag. Happy Editing! --♪♫ ĽąĦĩŘǔ ♫♪ Walkie-talkie 17:43, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Geetha Kumarasinghe

Your recent contribution(s) to the Wikipedia article Geetha Kumarasinghe are very much appreciated. However, you did not provide references or sources for your information. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and as you might be aware there is currently a drive to improve the quality of Wikipedia by encouraging editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. If sources are left unreferenced, it may count as original research, which is not allowed. Can you provide in the article specific references to any books, articles, websites or other reliable sources that will allow people to verify the content in the article? You can use a citation method listed at How to cite sources. Thanks! Valrith 21:54, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
