[edit] Stop

Do not delete content. I saw the talkpage for Angra Mainyu. freestylefrappe 21:37, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

The content was not deleted as you point out yourself. It was removed from the article because it bears no relevance to the subject, which relates to the mythical figure Angra Mainyu and NOT the game character. Chelman 11:33, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

I am afraid my knowledge of this matter is extremly slim. After a cursory glance think I agree with you - the FF character should have a separate page. It may be easier if you would create this page yourself, thus addressing the objections for content removal.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 23:09, 18 November 2005 (UTC)

No. You are both incorrect. You deleted content from the page. If you do so again you will be blocked for 24 hours. If you create a new page specific to that character in FF then you may delete the content from the original page, but there is nothing specifying that page to the Zoroastrian belief. freestylefrappe 04:15, 19 November 2005 (UTC)
24 hour ban? Based on what criteria? Your own? Somehow I cannot find anything relating to a ban in this case in this article: Wikipedia:Blocking policy. If you consider FF to be such an important piece of knowledge, make a page for it with the information that I preserved on the talk page. I can't do it since I have no knowledge whatsoever of children's toys and have no means of even remotely verifying the accuracy of the information. As to the relation with Zoroastrian belief I think that the categories the content of the main body of the article and the external references may have given it away..... Either way, I'm not too bothered about it, I would just like to point out that you have a most antagonistic style of communicating. Your unwillingness to comment on the article's discussion page seems to indicate that you somehow are only willing to stomp your feet and assert your position. Chelman 12:05, 19 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Crusade (modern)

Hi Chelman,

I agree the page is badly written, but I think it is savable.

I've deleted your speedy tag and called for RfD instead. I'll add your vote for speedy, but I'd appreciate it if you sign it for yourself.

Thanks, Ben Aveling 22:26, 23 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Composition of Julius Caesar images!

I didn't realise that I changed the layout. I reverted sombedy's change stating that Julius Caesar was born in Prussia. Chelman 22:39, 23 November 2005 (UTC)

Oh, I am sorry. I took a closer look and realized it wasn't you who had changed it. I am so sorry for the error. Thanks for your fast reply! Sincerely: Jduxen

I have erased my former text and instead placed it on the persons talk page, who edited the pictures. I hope this hasn't caused any inconvenience on your part, and you could erase this post about "Composition of Julius Caesar images". Again I apologize and thanks for your reply. Sincerely: Jduxen

[edit] Halibutt's RfA

Thanks. WikiThanks.
I would like to express my thanks to all the people who took part in my (failed) RfA voting. I was both surprised and delighted about the amount of support votes and all the kind words! I was also surprised by the amount of people who stated clearly that they do care, be it by voting in for or against my candidacy. That's what Wiki community is about and I'm really pleased to see that it works.
As my RfA voting failed with 71% support, I don't plan to reapply for adminship any more. However, I hope I might still be of some help to the community. Cheers! Halibutt 05:10, 29 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Articles for deletion/Crusade (modern)

I am aware of that. However, a great majority of the delete votes came after the article was redirected, and no rationale for deleting the redirect was provided at all. Therefore, it seemed illogical to delete the redirect. Johnleemk | Talk 16:10, 29 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Pistol Daimyo restored

Yeah, you're right, the CSD template on Pistol Daimyo wasn't really warranted. I've restored the article so it can be cleaned up, etc. Bumm13 11:40, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Travellers Lane

I've just looked at the Travellers Lane article. I think that this article provides plenty of context, but maybe this is becasue I'm a UK resident. What problems do you have with it? Matthew Matic 15:43, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

As it stands the article states that it's a road that goes from A to B and that there are shops and houses there. That describes just about every insignificant piece of tarmac in the world. I don't believe that it's Wikipedia's purpose to describe every single road in the world. I am therefore assuming that Travellers Lane is in some way a significant road due to either its commercial, logistic, historical or cultural importance. I am missing that imnformation from the article. It is also possible that the road is in fact INSIGNIFICANT. In that case an AFD listing would be called for. For examples see: Champs-Élysées, Fifth Avenue, Sunset Boulevard, M5 motorway, Bundesautobahn 1. Chelman 15:50, 30 November 2005 (UTC)
I looked at the lane on [getamap.ordnancesurvey.co.uk]. It does look like some insignificant road. Probably anon putting the page up for his road. Agreed on AFD. Matthew Matic 15:57, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] GHava

we are not an advertising agency. we are a collective of artists and designers and creative directors that produce commercial as well as non commercial art. please view the links on our listing as well as the GHOS section of our website and you will clearly see we meet the guidelines for this site. thanks for your participation. we seriously are just a group of 5 guys that are artists, not just some other ad agency or anything like that.Lerner 23:04, 15 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] hi

i read your comment on the GH avisualagency AfD page and saw that you have extensive experience on here. i am trying to contribute to the GH article but everyone on the discussion page keeps giving me the wrong advice. most insisted that i have to prove notability, then they said that it was wrong to list articles about the collective. i don't know who to believe as they all keep leading me astray. if you could please offer me any advice on how to make the article better or make any adjustments yourself i would sincerely appreciate it. even if it does get deleted, at least i will have known that i tried my hardest to make it the best i could given the limited time frame. thanks so much.

Proving notability is a difficult task. Merely being listed in a relatively small number of special interest, niche publications doesn't do the job. I think you would be hard pressed to assert notability for GH at this moment in time. I am sure that in time it may be perfectly OK to add a listing. In any case for now you should try and be as factual as possible...so no: 'GH have been highly influential in X, Y, Z and have gained massive acclaim for doing so' but: 'GH is considered to be very influential in modern grpahic design by Publication X [1]'. Until you guys become a household name it would not be OK to overstate your importance for fear of pushing an agenda. In General I think that THE BEST means for asserting notability is to have other (read: uninvolved) people wanting to write an article on you. Chelman 20:16, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
thanks for the great feedback. however, i can swear to you in a courtroom that i am not a member of GH and i did not originally author the article. i am a frequent user and devout fan of wikipedia. when i heard about the AfD through collegues of mine in the art industry who were knowledgeable about the collective, i came to see what i could do to help. it is rather disheartening that this 3rd degree of separation puts me in the realm of meatpuppet. it's odd that people have to be total strangers before they can be viewed as qualified to contribute to an article. thanks again for your time. Inspectorpanther 20:40, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

hello again, i needed to write that header on my talk page because he would not leave me alone. every time that i would write to someone or edit an article he would try to message me or message the person. i didn't know what else to do to stop him from trying to bully me. i felt like i was being stalked. i've told him numerous times to leave me alone. what do you suggest i do? Inspectorpanther 20:06, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

I suggest you refrain from personal exchanges with him if you feel this to be the case. Just limit yourself to the objective merits of the case at hand. People who are interested in the vote will read the discussion anyway. Chelman 20:16, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
i just changed my talk header to be express a more personal desire than a wiki-policy. hope he respects my wish. Inspectorpanther 20:40, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Volkert.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Volkert.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. [edit] Aquabox templates?

Hi. I was wikignoming through Unused templates and saw quite a few Aquabox templates which you had created back in October 2005. I didn't see any changes to them or see them linked anywhere. I was thinking they could be delete with {{tfd}}, but wanted to check with you first. Thx. — MrDolomite | Talk 01:57, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Request for a bit of help

Hello! There was an article (in english, but seemingly translated from a Polish website) about a Japanese-born Krakow performance artist Miho Iwata up for Afd recently. Since art and performance are my interests, I promised to wikify the article to help avoid its deletion and did so. The artist has an interesting-looking list of credits, and I actually learned a bit about the Polish art scene in the process. However, I do feel a little bit like a fish out of water here, since I don’t know much about the people and organizations she’s associated with. I did a fair bit of poking around and was able to alter some of the alternate spellings to create links. However, I’d feel much more comfortable if a native Polish speaker would read the original article in the history and my version to a)make sure I didn’t make any errors in linking b)add any relevant information c)let me know what their opinion is about the notability of this person’s accomplishments. There’s also one specific sentence that has me completely scratching my head and I could use some help figuring out. Thanks! Dina 21:38, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your Family History

Mr: Chelman

I want to ask a question very personal, Did you family or part of them emigrated to latin america or america in 1880?, Because my grand-grandfather Karl Chelman did come to chile in 1890 from polony, he told to my grand-father what his family remain in polony..may be you are, just may be, you are a relative of Karl.

Pleae answer me, my Name Claudio Zabala Chelman, claudiozabala@hotmail.com

[edit] I just hope...

dear Chelman, that you're not going to fail to mention about the Sumerian origin of Slavonic and therefore Polish tribes.

We have been kept in dark about it for long enough, would you agree?
