Chessspider was born on the 7th of november, 1989 in Zoetermeer, the Netherlands. At the writing of this article he is 16 years of age. He first appeared online around the year 2000, exact date unknown. He was very very active at the dutch game site Kaboem, where he played chess on his username "machiel12". He met a person called Luke and they quickly became friends. Luke suggested to use usernames that looked a lot like eachother. He quickly came up with the names ChessBull and ChessSpider. Machiel12 chose the name ChessSpider and Luke got ChessBull. ChessSpider got banned from the website Kaboem after he got caught sharing his account with his friend Luke. ChessSpider then moved to the more mature game-site spelpunt.nl. He started playing chess there as well, and even tried to become an admin there. However rules stated that admins should be atleast 18 years of age, so he never got the admin status.
He lost interest in Chess after a few years and started playing other games.

[edit] Elite Force
ChessSpider began playing Star_Trek_Voyager_Elite_Force. He joined the clan Federation Offensive Force (FOF), which was under the command of Redwing. He quickly got promoted and also made some very good friends there, including Djmillen and nemisis6. However ChessSpider noticed that FOF quickly became unstable and that Redwing wasn't as active in the clan as he used to be. He started talking to other clan-members who were also growingly annoyed by the unactiveness of the clan in general. What exactly happend is unknown, but Redwing dismantled the clan after he found out that ChessSpider started a "mutiny" against him. ChessSpider and UltimateEvil, another friend, started the clan Frag Force eXtreme (FFX). His two best friends djmillen and nemisis6 quickly joined. It seemed FFX had a bright future ahead of him. The leaders and the members both were active and everyone was happy. However after a few weeks some tensions arose. ChessSpider and UltimateEvil had a lot of differences, and the clan began to suffer as a result from it. After some quick reorganisation, the clan was eventually disbanded since both ChessSpider and UltimateEvil gave up hope in the clan FFX. ChessSpider quickly after that also gave up hope in Elite Force alltogether and decided to move on to a new game. UltimateEvil decided to restart the Federation Offensive Force (FOF), and that clan celebrated his first birthday a few months ago.

After Elite Force, ChessSpider decided to give the online MMORPG RuneScape a try. He had already made an account there after some schoolfriends gave him the link, however he didn't really liked the game at that point. His good friend nemisis6 was also playing RuneScape and reïnvited ChessSpider. Djmillen quickly joined the three friends after that. ChessSpider was very reluctant on joining an other clan after what happend in Elite Force, however schoolfriends of nemisis6 decided to start their own RuneScape clan. Nemisis6 was able to convince ChessSpider the clan and so he did. The clan didn't last for long, however ChessSpider did got atleast one new good friend out of it; andymc1989. He also got more friends like a guy with the nickname Optare and various other schoolfriends of nemisis6.
When ChessSpider was doing the RuneScape Quest (..) he met a guy named GMtao. GMtao had some trouble defeating the boss before, so ChessSpider decided to give him some food. GMtao didn't had to use the food that ChessSpider provided, and he quickly killed the boss. He then gave ChessSpider his food and some of his own, and waited till ChessSpider killed the boss. GMtao asked if ChessSpider was in a clan and asked if he was interested in joining one. ChessSpider replied sure, and GMtao suggested him to look for the (former) Anti-rpk clan The Sleeping Dragons. ChessSpider quickly found their website and decided to join the clan. With the help of GMtao he was able to enter the clan.
ChessSpider immediatly felt right at home in the new clan and he was also able of promoting pretty quickly due to his high-activity level.

[edit] Half Life 2 and Elite Force once again
After RuneScape, he started playing the single player of the game Half Life 2. That kept him busy for a few weeks, after that he didnt really was in the mood of playing an other game again. Since around march of 2006 he is now slowly starting playing Elite Force again.
[edit] Hobby's
ChessSpider's main hobbys are of course playing Chess, but he also likes to build websites. He has studied the coding language PHP and the database MySQL, which works very good with each other. He also knows how to make website-layouts using the language called HTML, however that was never one of his main interests. For his work at XySoft, he also had to learn the programming language C#. Though he as of yet have been unable to finish reading the book.
In his spare time he likes to work in his website, chatting with his friends on MSN and listening to his music.
