[edit] Bias!
no one can say this reads like an encyclopedia at all. i don't know anything about atkins. someone needs to fix this, because it reads like the rants of some fan and is a current waste of space Corzia 02:52, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

Hey ho.
The article could use some organization. Right now, the biography section is huge, but I'm not so sure that everything there is really biographical. At the least that section should be split into subsections. Much thanks. Phiwum 20:43, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
- I made an attempt. I hope it's an improvement. Respectfully, SamBlob 00:12, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Chet Atkins guitars
Little mention is made of Chet Atkins line of Gretsch guitars and just about none is made of the solid-body electro-acoustics he developed with Gibson.
I remember reading somewhere that a Gretsch spokesman and product tester named Jimmy Webster tried to get Chet Atkins to endorse their guitars. Atkins refused, claiming that his d'Angelicos gave him all he needed. Webster got permission from Gretsch management to offer Atkins a guitar model built to his specifications. Atkins accepted Webster's offer and the new model became the starting point for a line of Chet Atkins guitars, including the Nashville, the Tennesseean, and the Country Gentleman. If I could remember where I read that, I'd add it. Respectfully, SamBlob 00:53, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
