I have modified statement such as "In the UK, however, the single fared less well and continued the slide started by its predecessing single." and "it peaked at a lowly #22".

"Cherry Lips" improved on the chart position of "Androgyny" (which hit #24), so it hardly contiuned the slide. Also, it spent fourt weeks in the chart (three of them in the top 40!). This is at least two weeks longer than any other Garbage single since "TWINE" (which was in 1999), save "Why Do You Love Me".
