Cheryl Baker

Cheryl Baker (born Rita Crudgington, on 8 March 1954, in Bethnal Green, England) is a television presenter. She has appeared in the Eurovision Song Contest twice, both times representing the United Kingdom. First in 1978 as a member of the group Co-Co, they came in at 11th place with the song The Bad Old Days. However it is with the second time she entered the contest with Bucks Fizz, that she is best remembered, with their song Making Your Mind Up, which won the Eurovision Song Contest 1981 for the United Kingdom. Also in October 1988, she started to present a Saturday morning BBC children's show called Eggs 'n' Baker.
Baker then went on to stay with Bucks Fizz until 1993, when she left to pursue a career in television presenting. She went on to co-present Record Breakers alongside Roy Castle, and latterly Kriss Akabusi.
After this she went on to making guest appearances on television, including The Weakest Link, GMTV, and Bargain Hunt. More recently Baker has made appearances on the reality television shows, Drop the Celebrity and I'm Famous and Frightened!.
For the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, she read out the points from the United Kingdom. In the BBC's 50th anniversary celebration of the show Congratulations, she introduced the song Waterloo by ABBA. Later on during the same programme, she sung Buck Fizz's winning song Making Your Mind Up live with Mike Nolan and Shelley Preston.
Cheyl's other presenting work includes the satellite and Freeview shopping channel price-drop tv. In 2006, she made was a special guest star on ITV Play's cult late night quiz show The Mint.
Currently, Cheryl is playing the role of Vi Moore in the London production of Footloose, the musical based on the 1984 motion picture of the same name, at the Novello Theatre as well as promoting a shampoo which helps thinning hair.
